Every year around this time yogis and conscious people from all over the world gather at localized events known as Global Mala projects. These gatherings have one intention: to unite the community and as each event is a 'bead on the strand' we join forces with our kindred souls and offer our love, devotion, prayers and honor the gift of life.
The Los Angeles Global Mala Event was the largest in the world last year, with thousands of people gathering to do 108 rounds of Sun Salutations for World Peace.
Global Mala is coming up this Sunday, so find an event near you (globalmala.org ) and get involved. If you don't have any events near you, consider gathering with some friends to join in with your own mala bead offering. And perhaps next year, you will be so moved to organize and/or lead an event of your own :)
Here's a wonderful video from last year's event. Enjoy! And remember, in order to be the change you want to see in the world, we must begin in our hearts and minds. Setting our intentions upon what it is that truly matters and how we can most effectively impact the world, our families, our own personal path and journey.
